Coloring Outside the Lines returns on May 14th for Volume #2, continuing the four-part exhibition series with an elevated evening where art, sound, and community converge. This next chapter shifts the focus toward empowerment—exploring how creativity becomes a tool for reclaiming voice, redefining identity, and shaping new possibilities. Through bold color, intentional form, and expressive departures from convention, the works invite guests to engage with art not just as observers, but as participants in a larger narrative of growth, agency, and transformation.
The evening experience remains both social and reflective. A cash bar will be available throughout the night, encouraging relaxed conversation and meaningful connection, while DJ Willie Shu provides the soundtrack—layering rhythm and mood to complement the visual journey. Convenient parking is available via a nearby ramp for a small fee, making arrival seamless for guests across the Twin Cities.
The exhibition once again features pieces curated in partnership with the Minneapolis Institute of Art, an institution internationally recognized for its expansive collection and commitment to community engagement. Mia’s involvement continues to bring curatorial depth and cultural context, reinforcing the exhibition’s connection to broader conversations around equity, representation, and the transformative power of art.
Volume #2: Art is a Form of Empowerment builds on the foundation of Part I—expanding the dialogue, deepening the experience, and inviting you to continue coloring outside the lines.
